pcma meets the flies - ICD8 in Potsdam!

The one thinking that flies are futile animals, will be disabused.

From August, 10 - 15 pcma organised the 8th International Congress of Dipterologie at the Kongresshotel in Potsdam - almost 400 national and international participants meet each other during the last few days in Potsdam to exchange views about current results of the research in Dipterology.
Contrary to the common opinion, flies are very useful animals: They contribute in the vegetation by pollinating plants, care about pest control and help to clarify murder cases by finding out the time of death. The world would choke in waste without flies!

The regional media also reported on the world congress in Potsdam: rbb (Rundfunk Berlin Brandenburg),  Märkische Allgemeine Zeitung (MAZ) and Potsdams Neuste Nachrichten.

For those who would like to get more information about these fascinating insects the Naturkundemuseum Berlin presents a special exhibition about flies from 13.08.2014 - 15.01.2015. We wish you a lot of fun exploring the world of flies!
